Design Collective’s recent work at the Deupree Senior Living Community, in Cincinnati, OH was awarded “Best in Show” at the 2010 conference of Environments for Aging Design.
The Deupree Community, owned and operated by Episcopal Retirement Homes, Inc. was initially honored as one of the six “Citation of Merit” projects for 2010, and then went on to win “Best of Show”. Design Collective Principal, David Cooke, said “DCI has been providing interior design services to ERH, Inc. for over 25 years and we are very proud to be part of the current project, along with SFCS", (Roanoke, VA) the architects for the community.
The awards committee especially noted the “…two unique ‘nursing cottages’…(that)were added to look like traditional homes. Each cottage has 10 private residential rooms and two larger private suites that allow for separate living and sleeping areas, all of which have showers. Common areas include the hearth room with fireplace, dining room, den, kitchen and library room.”
To see more about these unique cottages, visit “Our Portfolio” section of DCI’s web site.
The project was also featured in a major article “More Home, Less Nursing” in the January/February issue of the HFPA Journal.
Congratulations to the entire team and our client, Laura Lamb, Vice President and Doug Spitler, ERH’s President and CEO.
