Medinah Country Club
Medinah, IL

After nearly 90 years, Chicago's Medinah Country Club remains one of the nation's most prestigious clubs, hosting events such as the Ryder Cup, several PGA Tours, and several U.S. Opens. Design Collective has been charged with the task of enhancing their historic clubhouse through capital improvement projects, as well as new initiatives such as creating a Member's Bar.

DCI began by examining possible locations to add the new Member's Bar to the Palm Lounge, currently used for "high tea" with a view onto the expansive golf course. The goal for the new Member's Bar was to create an energetic and intimate space without impeding the views of the course. Another important task was developing a new color palette, which DCI based off of the existing architecture and motifs in the space.

The Palm Lounge will now feature the new Member's Bar that will have a front and a back, new marble flooring, the existing fountain and ceiling with a new metallic finish, and new custom-designed draperies. By using existing and new furniture Design Collective was able to create new lounge areas in the bar that will be great for small gatherings or viewing events on the green. The new space will bring a dramatically new feel and vibrancy that the members can enjoy.
