Ever since the first Original Gino's Pizza opened in 1955, the Toledo Pizza King's identity went through several inconsistent identity variations. When DCI met Gino's, the organization was looking to the future. Gino's wanted a cohesive brand launch to coincide with the opening of their fifth Toledo-area store, and to develop a sister brand for franchising opportunities.
With interior and environmental graphic designers assigned to developing the two new brands, and designing the interiors of the new store, DCI was able to produce an integrated package that captured several unique in-store opportunities. These "branded zones" became a section in the overall brand identity system developed for Gino's and the DCI-named Sauci's Pizza stores.
The brand identity programs also included all acceptable logo variations, menu board designs, sauce labels, pizza boxes, newspaper advertisements, in-store displays, merchandise, apparel, and everything else a pizza store could need.
